LARKANA: Kamran Larik of the free will marriage couple, hailing from Khairpur, who was forced to consume poison allegedly by their families few days back, died here at Chandka Medical College Hospital here on Thursday.
The couple was shifted to the CMCH ICU on Wednesday evening under police security.
Initially both Larik and Tahira Shah remained unconscious in Civil Hospital, Khairpur and doctors washed their stomachs. When Tahira Shah regained her conscious there, she revealed before media about the tragidy she had faced, that her uncle Shamshad Shah, an ASI in police, forced her and her husband to drink a glass poison as her father was holding a pistol in his hand. Due to fear of life, she added, they both drank glasses adding after which “we both became unconscious & found ourselves in the hospital”. SSP Khairpur Azfar Mahesar told the media that three out of five nominated accused in the FIR No: 66 and 67 on 14 August filed by SHO Hingorja Police Station Mir Mohd Bhutto have been arrested and main accused Shamshad Shah and Ashraf Leghari are still at large.
