ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that his party would put up resistance to every attempt of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to clip the wings of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). “Both the prime minister and the Punjab chief minister are issuing threats to the NAB. We strongly condemn them,” Khan said. “If the NAB is doing a good job, it should be praised and commended by the government,” he said. Khan said the NAB should be made an independent and autonomous boy. “It is shameful to see the federal government citing amendments to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) as a justification for attacking the NAB and undermining its credibility. We will not let that happen,” he said. “As per my commitment, the KPEC will remain independent and will have all the powers to nab any corrupt individual in the province,” he said.
