RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a smuggling bid on Friday.
Ali Gauhar – resident of Mardan – who was to board on a private airline for Doha at the Benazir International Airport was stopped by the ASF personnel for checking over suspicion.
Ice and heroin – weighing at least 2 kilogrammes – was recovered from his bag and he was arrested. Sources at the airport stated that he had hidden the drug in a box containing packaged sweat.
According to the customs authorities, the seized drug is worth more than Rs 20 million in international markets. A case was lodged against him following his arrest and the investigation has begun.
